Kanpur: Irrigation and revenue department will jointly monitor the rising water level of river Ganga for 24 hours. Along with this, district magistrate Vishak G Iyer on Wednesday directed that arrangement of tractor or boat should also be ensured in those villages where there is a situation of water logging at the approach road, he added.Earlier, DM inspected the flood relief camps at the Ganga Barrage and Kalyanpur in view of rising water level of river Ganga in the district. As many as 15 families are staying in Kanshiram flood relief camp in Kalyanpur. After the inspection of relief camps he directed the chief medical officer that medical health kits should be made available to all the families by the medical team in the relief camp after conducting a health check-up of all the members.In another direction, he asked the additional district supply officer to distribute ration to all the families living in the flood relief camps till the Ganga water level subsides and it should be ensured to distribute ration through home delivery in waterlogged villages. The district panchayat raj officer was directed to ensure continuous cleanliness by deputing adequate numbers of sanitation workers in the flood relief camps and continuous spraying of medicines by campaigning in waterlogged villages. Tehsildar sadar was directed to ensure installation of generators etc. in the relief camp so that there could be uninterrupted power supply.
