Body of girl, 17, found hanging; five booked

Kanpur: The body of a 17-year-old girl, who went missing under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday night from her home in a locality in Mangalpur police station area in Kanpur Dehat, was found hanging from the power grid tower in Simriyapurwa on Wednesday.The incident came to light on Thursday, after the police lodged an FIR against the two brothers and three unknown persons on the complaint of the family members of the deceased. They have been booked for kidnapping and killing and hanging the body of the teenager.Victims brother Alam told the police that Dilshad and his brother Khalil and three unknown people had taken his minor sister along.On Tuesday night, when Dilshad and his brother were questioned by Alam regarding the presence of the latters sister at their house, they threatened him of dire consequences. After that he came to his home. The next day on Wednesday, his sisters body was found hanging from a power grid tower in Simriyapurwa. Upon receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and sent the body for postmortem.Police station in charge Mangalpur, Yatendra Singh, said that on the basis of a complaint of Alam, the brother of the deceased, a case has been registered under relevant IPC sections like kidnapping, murder and concealment of evidence against five, including two brothers Dilshad and Khalil, and three unknown.Investigations are underway in this regard. Further action will be taken on the basis of evidence and other necessary findings, he added.
