KBA results out: Pramod Dwivedi elected new prez

Kanpur: Pramod Kumar Dwivedi and Aditya Singh have been elected as president and general secretary respectively of Kanpur Bar Association. The counting of votes was completed late Wednesday night. The election for various posts of KBA was held on August 22.Pramod Kumar Dwivedi defeated his nearest rival Nasiruddin by a margin of over 1276 votes.Dwivedi got the support of as many as 2302 members while Nasiruddin got nearly 1026 votes. Two former officer bearers of KBA, Dinesh Shukla and Ramendra Katiyar stood at third and fourth spots respectively with around 871 and over 451 votes respectively.Adiyta Singh got as many as 1797 votes against his nearest rival Ramji Dubey who secured over 1061 votes. He lost by around 736 votes. The elders committee declared the results of the president and general secretarys post around 10.30 p.m.Both the winners as soon as the result declared in their favour went to Anandeshwar Temple and offered prayers there. Thereafter, the police administration sent them to their respective homes amid police security.The new president after winning said that he would make efforts to seek pension for old advocates and honorarium for young advocates from the state government. Moreover, he would give free coaching to young advocates who were interested in judicial services.Aditya Singh stated that he would try to redress the problems of the advocates.A strong crowd of advocates was present inside the court campus to know the result of counting of the President and General Secretarys post. They welcomed and greeted them.Counting for other posts continued the second day on Thursday too and the elders committee declared the results of three more posts. Shishir Kumar Pandey won the secretarys post after getting the support of 1550 advocates.He defeated his nearest rival Virendra Kumar Pasi by over 95 votes. Virendra got 1455 votes. Sanjeev Kumar Dubey was elected for sr vice presidents post with highest 1132 votes and Priti Tripathi declared elected for the post of Jt Secretary (lib) with around 1272 votes. Counting for other posts is going on and results would be declared later according to the elders committee.
