Kanpur: An audio of a sub-inspectors objectionable conversation with a woman complainant, which has gone viral on social media, has come to fore in Kanpur. As soon as the matter reached the higher authorities, they took prompt action and suspended the S-I.The incident took place in Sadh police station area where a woman had gone to lodge a complaint regarding assault by her husband.The S-I took the womans complaint, proposed friendship with her and asked her to meet him alone some day and assured her that he would set her husband right. After the matter came to light, additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP) Ankita Sharma suspended sub-inspector Tejveer Singh posted at Sadh police station. ADCP said that Kanpur Commissionerate has zero tolerance on crime against women due to which the SI has been suspended and a probe has been ordered, the ADCP said. This kind of behaviour with the complainant will not be tolerated at all, ADCP further said. The investigation of the case has been handed over to Ghatampur assistant commissioner of police Dinesh Kumar Shukla, she added.
