Kanpur: Former UP captain Suresh Raina claimed that the ongoing T-20 league was a good platform for present and junior cricketers of the state as franchises in all over India eager to grab the best players for their team were witnessing it interestingly. The contract with Jio for five years would help UP in generating big players, he said.Raina, who is brand ambassador of the UPCAs T-20 league, while replying to a question about what changes should take place in the upgraded version of this league, stated that inclusion of a couple of teams and junior players would give a better platform to young players and UP could make a young, energetic and experienced team. Junior players are very well groomed in the company of senior players, he said.Talking about the Indian team for the World Cup, Raina opined that Mohd Shami and a wrist spinner must be included in the team. Presence of wrist spinner and a couple of left handers would make difference in the squad. Shami is a fast bowler who bowls at the speed of 145 and 150 km per hour, will be an asset for the team. Moreover, a wrist spinner will prove a boon for the team, Raina said.In reply to another question he said that in the national squad, Rinku Singh and a couple of batsmen would prove a good replacement for his slot. Rinku is emerging as an aggressive finisher, he added.
