Man’s head severed due to electric shock

Kanpur: A shuttering workers head was severed after he came in contact with a high tension wire while working at an under construction house on Panki road in Kalyanpur police area on Tuesday.The police said that the deceased has been identified as Irfan, a resident of Pratappur area of the district.On Tuesday morning, he was fixing shutters for a slab in an under construction house at Panki road, when he came in the contact with a high tension wire passing near the balcony. As the news spread, a heavy crowd gathered at the spot. The workers family members reached the spot and accused the electricity department of negligence.Locals described the incident as a scary incident. As soon as the worker came in contact with the high tension line, he got clung to the wire and received electric shocks for about 1 minute. Then, the mans head got separated from the torso and fell on the ground and then his body also fell down, said one of the residents. The workers body has turned black due to burns and blood was oozing out of his stomach, they said.Other workers present at the site raised an alarm and tried to alert the power department for shut down, but the man had died by then. ACP Kalyanpur Vikas Kumar Pandey said, Investigations are underway in this regard. Body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem. The shocking video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
