Kanpur: The industrial city on Sunday received intermittent rain but extremely heavy downpour lashed the city in the evening hours of the day resulting in waterlogging. This could possibly be the heaviest rainfall of the season. The Met department of CSA University is yet to release the details of the rain gauge.It was raining while this report was being filed and the rainfall continued for several hours in the evening hours ending the dry spell which had been continuing for the past several weeks.Complaints of waterlogging were reported from several localities across the city. The Juhi underbridge once again got waterlogged. Waterlogging was reported from Chawla Market in Govind Nagar, Saket Nagar, K-Block Kidwai Nagar, Fazalganj, Lajpat Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Kakadeo, Darshanpurwa, P. Road, Lal Bangla etc. Denizens had to wade through waterlogged roads to reach their destination. The Met department of CSA University said more rains are in the offing till September 15. The day temperature recorded was 32.2 degree Celsius which was 1.2 degrees less than the normal value while the minimum temperature rose to 24.8 degrees due to cloudy weather conditions.
