50% officers absent, mayor cuts day’s salary

Kanpur:Mayor Pramila Pandey on Thursday made a random visit to zone III office and found that around half a dozen employees including zonal incharge Chandrapl Singh were absent.The annoyed Mayor ordered to deduct one day salary of all absent employees and sought their explanation.Meanwhile, news of the Mayors visit spread and the zonal incharge reached the office and started giving explanations. But the Mayor told him that the clock was showing 11 a.m. and he was absent. How grievances of the public could be redressed.She asked from the complainants who had reached there that their grievances were redressed or not. On a negative answer she sat in the office and heard the complaints and passed appropriate orders and directed zonal incharge to execute them. The CM directed the respective departments to take appropriate action in each case.13 of 15 Pkl officials found absent at workThirteen officials of the food and supply control department in Panchkula were absent from work, prompting the deputy commissioner to issue them a show-cause notice. Only four out of 17 employees were at their desks when a city magistrate visited the department. The deputy commissioner had previously instructed all officers to arrive at work by 9 am and follow a dress code.
