Kanpur: A 17-year-old minor girl, who was allegedly raped on several occasions and blackmailed continuously by her boyfriend and his brother-in-law reportedly committed suicide after consuming poison in Rawatpur police area of Kanpur. The girls parents filed a police complaint on Wednesday and the two accused have been booked on the charges of rape and abetment to suicide under various IPC sections and Pocso Act. A suicide note has also been recovered and probe is on. The incident took place on September 11 and was reported on Wednesday. According to her father, the girl lived with her family in Rawatpur locality. After completing high school, she helped her mother in household chores. Last year, they visited Ghatampur with family to attend a wedding ceremony where a youth seduced his daughter and befriended her. The youth then lured her into a love trap and raped her several times. The boy also made a video of the girl and gave it his brother-in-law. After this, the duo started sexually exploiting her by threatening to make the video viral on social media.However, on Monday, while her mother had gone to pick her younger sister from school and her father left for work, the girl committed suicide at her house. She was admitted to Lala Lajpat Rai hospital where she died on Tuesday. The parents filed a complaint and an FIR has been lodged under the Indian Penal Code sections 376 (rape), 306 (abatement of suicide), 506 (criminal intimidation) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and took both the accused into their custody.ADCP Lakhan Yadav said, A case has been registered and the police have taken both the accused into their custody. We have also recovered a suicide note from the spot. An investigation is underway.
