Kanpur: A driver and an attendant were killed after a speeding truck fell into a 25 feet deep ditch on Agra- Lucknow Expressway in Bilhaur area of Kanpur on Thursday. Police, on being informed, reached the spot and pulled out the bodies with the help of a hydra crane. Their families were informed about the tragedy.Police station in-charge Araul Premchandra Kanaujia said that the accident occurred apparently after the truck driver dozed off. The incident took place at 6.30 in the morning when the truck was going towards Lucknow, he said. After reaching the spot, a rescue operation was started. With the help of hydra crane, both the victims, trapped under the truck, were rescued and rushed to a community health center where doctors declared both of them dead, he said.The family members of the driver and cleaner have been informed and the bodies have been sent for postmortem, he further said and added, the victims have been identified as driver Omprakash (41), son of Chandan Singh, a resident of Rajaram Patti in Mathura and attendant Vimlesh Kashyap (25), son of Vijaypal, a resident of Kesarmau Kala in Itaunja area of Lucknow. tnnWe also published the following articles recentlyTruck driver, cleaner killed in accident in KrishnagiriTwo people, a driver and a cleaner, were killed in a truck accident in Krishnagiri district.
