Kanpur cricketers lift Patel trophy

Kanpur: Samanvay Dixits fine performance (61 not out and 4 wickets) helped Kanpur Cricketers lift the Patel trophy after beating Kanpur South by 9 wickets in the final of Surendra Singh Yadav memorial T-20 cricket championship which concluded at Palika stadium here on Wednesday.Kanpur South, after being invited to bat, scored 9 for 127 runs in 20 overs. Samanvay Dixit claimed 4 wickets for 17 runs. For the South team, Aman Yadav and Pranav Vohra contributed 34 and 25 runs respectively. Kanpur Cricketers in reply hit the required runs for the victory in 15.3 overs. Samanvay hit an unbeaten 61 runs. Gopal Singh contributed 39 runs. Durga Charan returned unbeaten on 27 runs.After the final, chief guest Surendra Maithani, MLA, gave away trophies to the winner and runner up teams. Samanvay Dixit was adjudged as man of the match and player of the tournament. Faiz Ahmad, who had hit a century, was declared as the best batsman. P S Negi welcomed the guests.
