Self-reliance helping build nation: CM gifts 1,001 sewing machines

Kanpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in the distribution of sewing machine to 1,001 needy women of self-help groups, organized by the JK Group, here on Saturday. Apart from this, the CM also gave cheques and citations to women beneficiaries of many other schemes. Yogi thanked these women as well as the industrial group for the initiative taken for the empowerment of women.He said the society could not be strong without empowering half of the population.If the society is not strong, it cannot be self-reliant. Only by making the society strong and self-reliant can we realise the vision of building a strong nation, he said and added, It was reassuring to know from these women that they had undergone training in operatingsewing machines. We have no shortage of manpower. We have scale and we will have to combine it with skill. For this, the government will have to provide a platform and is also working for the same.Under Mission Shakti, the government was working with commitment for safety, self-reliance and respect of women, he said.Yogi praised the JK temple management and said that it is an example of how clean and beautiful places of worship should be.Commenting on the initiative, Abhishek Singhania, director of JK group said, No country can progress without empowering women. An educated and self-reliant woman is an ideal architect of society, so, JK Urbanscapes decided to distribute 1,001 sewing machines so that women not only became independent and self-reliant but also a contributor to the apparel industry of Uttar Pradesh. Proposals emerged from the discussion, including the establishment of a working group to implement recommendations. The consultation also highlighted the need for vocational training, legal support, and community-based support measures for survivors.
