Kanpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in the distribution of sewing machine to 1,001 needy women of self-help groups, organized by the JK Group, here on Saturday. Apart from this, the CM also gave cheques and citations to women beneficiaries of many other schemes. Yogi thanked these women as well as the industrial group for the initiative taken for the empowerment of women.He said the society could not be strong without empowering half of the population.If the society is not strong, it cannot be self-reliant. Only by making the society strong and self-reliant can we realise the vision of building a strong nation, he said and added, It was reassuring to know from these women that they had undergone training in operatingsewing machines. We have no shortage of manpower. We have scale and we will have to combine it with skill.
