UP, U’khand win all 3 titles in Kho-Kho meet

Kanpur: Uttar Pradesh & Uttrakhand (UP & UK) won all the three age group titles in National CBSE girls Kho-Kho championship which concluded at Sheiling House School here on Monday.In the U-19 final, UP and UK drubbed Tamil Nadu by an innings and 6 pts. Maharashtra in a hard line tie humbled AP & Telangana by 2 points and achieved third place. UP & UK in the finals collected 12 points and allowed Tamil Nadu to earn 6 points.In the U-17 final, UP & UK humbled Maharashtra by 11 points, The winners collected 18 pts against Maharashtras 7 pts.In the semi-final clashes, UP & UK beat Odisha by 6 pts and the final score was 10-4 in favour of the winner. Maharashtra in the second semi-final defeated Karnataka by 11-9. The final of U-14 proved one sided as UP & UK outplayed Maharashtra by one point and 3 minutes. After the finals, chief guest Kim Noble, chief observer of CISCE sports and games, gave away the trophies and medals to winners and runner up teams. Bicholim MLA Chandrakant Shetye expressed happiness at the fulfillment of this long-awaited dream for the residents.
