Tension in village as idols found damaged

Kanpur: Tension prevailed after idols installed at a temple built in a farm of Garhi village in Bilhaur of the district were found damaged on Thursday. Former head of Garhi village Nitin Katiyar said he had built a temple of Goddess Kali and Lord Shiva at his farm four years ago and his family members and villagers offer prayers there. On Thursday morning, when his family members reached the temple for prayers they found the idols broken.As soon as the news spread, angry villagers later staged a protest demanding strict action against the culprits.ACP IP Singh reached the spot and pacified the villagers by assuring them to install new idols. It seems that the idols were broken by some drunkard. New idols will be installed soon.
