Boy dies as crackers in his bag explode

Kanpur: A 12-year-old boy died and four others were injured in a firecracker explosion in Rasoolabad town in Kanpur Dehat district, on Sunday evening. Police identified the deceased as Sufiyan, son of Abdul Dilshad, a resident of Rasoolabad town.A loud explosion caused panic and locals thronged the spot. On receiving information, circle officer of Rasoolabad, Kanpur Dehat, along with forensic experts, reached the spot for rescue.Police admitted the injured to the district hospital for treatment and sent the body of the minor boy for post mortem.Rasoolabad CO Tanu Upadhyay said that according to eyewitnesses, the child was carrying in a bag a lot of firecrackers which exploded and he died on the spot.Four other locals who were passing by suffered injuries too.
