Kanpur: A man allegedly killed his 30-year-old nephew by hacking him with a shovel in Orai in Jalaun district on suspicion of having illicit relations with his wife.When the daughter of the accused saw him committing the crime, she raised an alarm and immediately dialled PRV-112. Subsequently, police rushed to the spot, and after preliminary investigations, shifted the body of the deceased for postmortem examination.Later, on the complaint of the daughter of the deceased Pinki Devi, the police booked a case against the accused and arrested him.The police identified the deceased as Sunil Kushwaha of Daulatpur (Auraiya) while the accused Beer Singh (47) lives in Kuan Kheda village in Jalaun. On Friday, Sunil Kushwaha came to his maternal uncle Beer Singhs place in Kuan Kheda village of Jalaun. At around 11 pm, Sunil and Beer Singh both layed down on the separate cots outside the house while the other family members went to sleep inside the house. At around 12 midnight, Sunils loud shrieks drew the attention of his family members and neighbours.When they went closer, they found Sunil lying in a pool of blood, while Beer Singh escaped the site with a shovel. The police later arrested Beer Singh. We have arrested Beer Singh, and registered an FIR on the basis of a complaint. Further investigations are on. The wife succumbed to her injuries, while the husband remains in critical condition. The police recovered the stolen car, a pistol, cartridges, and cash from the suspects possession. The suspect opened fire on the police during the encounter and was killed in the exchange of fire.
