Smart classes to start in Kanpur Dehat’s 129 Parishadiya schools

Kanpur: The basic education department will soon start smart classes in 129 Parishadiya schools in Kanpur Dehat district in order to improve educational facilities in the district.The exercise will be started after instructions from the government. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) labs will be established at 10 block resource centres of the district for which the process of improving infrastructure and supplying goods has been started.According to the departmental officials, for Smart Class setup, interactive flat panel (IFC) 75 inch wireless keyboard, mouse, one KVA UPS, Wi Fi data card modem, HD webcam, device management application software, digital content from classes I to 8 learning management software, stylus pen and other accessories will be included. A sum of Rs 50,000 will be given for the ICT labs to be built at 10 block resource centres of the district.Basic education officer Riddhi Pandey said that necessary furniture (chair, computer table, CCTV camera) has to be purchased for the labs for which a budget of Rs 50,000 is being released for each lab. The police are investigating whether the boys family, who owned a Diwali fireworks shop, had a license to sell fireworks.Class on Wheels to provide free computer classes for rural school studentsM Friends Charitable Trust will launch "Class on Wheels," an air-conditioned bus that will provide computer literacy classes to government school students in Dakshina Kannada district, India. The bus, designed as a mobile computer lab, will be equipped with 16 laptops, a projector, a television set, a music system, an LED digital board, a public announcement system, and a printer. The aim is to provide basic computer classes to 5,000 students annually. The bus will visit 3-4 schools daily, spending 60-90 minutes at each location. The initiative is part of the Trusts 10th-anniversary celebrations.
