Kanpur: Police have detained a man in Kanpur Dehat district on the charge of raping his 12-year-old-daughter. The girls maternal uncle, who lodged a complaint against the accused, said that since his sister had died when his niece was only one-year-old, he, therefore, brought her to his home after her father remarried.The girls father though used to visit to meet his daughter even after his remarriage but on Sunday, he (the accused) took the girl to his house and allegedly raped her, , the girls maternal uncle said.The girls father took her to his home on a bike on Sunday night, and after that he raped her. He also warned her of dire consequences if she tells anyone about the incident, the girls maternal uncle further said and added that the girl was in a state of shock ever since she returned home. When he asked her, she narrated her ordeal to him. In-charge of Shivli police station Shiv Narain Singh said that a complaint has been received. The accused has been detained and is being interrogated. The medical examination of the girl is also being done.
