Kanpur: Nitish Rana will lead the UP cricket team in the one-day Vijay Hazare trophy tournament to be held from November 25. The selectors picked under- 23 league performers Swastik Chikara, Samir Rizvi and Shoaib Siddiqui in the UP squad.The selection committee selected the cricketers after a camp held at Green Park. They picked medium fast bowler Ankit Rajput in the squad and did not consider Karan Sharma who had led UP teamin Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy recently.Swastik Chikara came in light when he had hit three consecutive centuries in the UP T-20 league against Kanpur, Gorakhpur and Noida teams. He had also scored unbeaten 154 runs in one day Under – 23 tournaments semifinal.Samir Rizvi and wicketkeeper batsman Shoaib Siddiqui had scored centuries against Bengal and Arunachal.The members of UP team are-Nitish Rana (captain), Madhav Kaushik, Samarth Singh, Dhruv Jurel, Aryan Jurel, Swastik Chikara, Samir Rizvi, Shoaib Siddiqui, Saurabh Kumar Jasmer Dhankar, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Priyam Garg, Kartik Tyagi, Ankit Rajput and Yash Dayal.UP will began its campaign against Himachal Pradesh in Chandigarh on November 25.
