Kanpur: A 17-year-old girl and a teenaged youth, purported to be her boyfriend, were found hanging in the latters house in Jahanganj police station area in Farrukhabad district on Thursday.Prima facie it appears that the two had hanged themselves as their affair was rejected by their families, said Jahanganj station house officer Yogesh Solanki. Their bodies have been shifted to a mortuary for postmortem examination.The girl had an affair with an 18-year-old Surjit Batham, a resident of Nagla Rampur village of the district. Both had eloped from their house on Wednesday, the SHO further said.The girls father had also lodged an FIR at Jahanganj police station against Surjit, accusing him of abducting his daughter to compel her for marriage, the SHO said. After being informed by the villagers, police reached Surjits house and found both of them hanging from the ceiling.The doctors who had conducted the postmortem examination, said that both of them died due to suffocation following hanging. The slides of both were made and have been preserved.Circle officer Kayamganj Sohrab Alam said that the youth and the girl committed suicide by hanging themselves. No injury marks were found on their bodies. A love affair was going on between them and the two wanted to marry, but their family members were against their relationship, the CO said and added, There was no one at Surjits house.
