Kanpur: Additional sessions judge Kanpur Nagar Surendra Pal Singh on Friday sentenced accused Ishan Bhatia to ten years rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 25,000 for making an attempt to kill someone.The court in its order observed that the accused would have to undergo another six months jail term if he fails to pay the fine amount. The time he had passed in jail during the trial would be adjusted in the sentence.According to ADGC Pradeep Kumar Sahu, accused Ishan Bhatia due to some dispute had arguments with Ashish Kumar Gupta on March 18, 2017. Around 11 pm, Ishan came back on his motorcycle and shot four rounds from a country-made pistol with an aim to kill Ashish.Two shots were missed and Ashish saved himself from one shot but the fourth shot hit his thigh. Later, Ashishs wife lodged the report at Fazalganj police station.
