Kanpur: In a bizarre incident in the city, a woman corporator, angry with the lackadaisical attitude of a local Jal Kal officer, reached his office with flowers and incense sticks, and performed his aarti.A video of the woman corporator performing the aarti had gone viral on the social media on Thursday, but TOI does not confirm veracity of the video.Shalu Kanaujia, corporator of ward no. 16, said that she performed the aarti of the officer to awaken his conscience.The motor of the tube-well installed at Juhi Shaheed Park has been non-functional for the past few days following some kind of snag, she said. Even after informing him several times, chief executive engineer (District-3) RK Yadav did not pay any attention to the complaints while the people of the area are bearing the brunt of water shortage. Their hardships did not make any difference on the officials concerned, she added. When chief executive Engineer RK Yadav was contacted by the media, he said that the problem had arisen due to non-availability of budget.
