Samajwadi Party to contest civic polls on cycle symbol: Akhilesh Yadav

It was after a long time that SP patron had met Ram Gopal Yadav at the latter's residence. SP patron Mulayam Singh Yadav also reached Saifai and met Ram Gopal at his residence. KANPUR: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav , on Wednesday, said the party will contest local body polls in the state on the party symbol 'cycle'.He said that the party will go alone for local body polls as no decision has yet been taken yet on whether SP will again form an alliance with the Congress.

KANPUR: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav , on Wednesday, said the party will contest local body polls in the state on the party symbol 'cycle'.He said that the party will go alone for local body polls as no decision has yet been taken yet on whether SP will again form an alliance with the Congress. "SP will fight civic elections alone and on the party symbol 'cycle' as no decision has been taken on an alliance with the Congress," said Akhilesh while talking to reporters at his native village Saifai He reached Saifai on Tuesday to celebrate Diwali with his family and villagers. He refused to comment on the issue of his uncle Shivpal Yadav 's name missing from the SP national executive list. He lashed out at the state government's bid to convert Lion Safari into a zoo. "How can a bird and a lion live together, it's quite difficult," said Akhilesh.While wishing the people on the eve of Diwali, Akhilesh also took a jibe on chief minister Aditya Nath Yogi saying that he can celebrate Diwali anywhere, but the one who owes a family celebrates Diwali at home. "I have heard that he will celebrate Diwali in Agra also," said Yadav.He targeted the Centre for making Aadhar card compulsory and said that, "The officials should give some relaxation." Citing the incident in which a girl died of hunger in Jharkhand because her Aadhaar was not linked with ration card, he added, "Its really shameful."The former CM, who reached his village with his family including his children Tina and Arjun and wife Dimple on Tuesday, spent time with his uncle and Rajya Sabha member Ram Gopal Yadav along with other other senior members of his family on Wednesday .Shivpal Yadav reached Saifai in afternoon hours. SP patron Mulayam Singh Yadav also reached Saifai and met Ram Gopal at his residence. It was after a long time that SP patron had met Ram Gopal Yadav at the latter's residence.
