Four hurt in road mishaps

Ludhiana: Jagtar Singh of Jandali Kalan and his wife Gurwinder Kaur were injured when a speeding tempo (bearing registration no. PB 10FV 1242) hit his motorcycle near the Verka milk plant on Ferozepur Road here. The police have booked the tempo driver identified as Sukhdev Singh of Meharban village under Sections 279 337 338 and 427 IPC. OCMan held for smuggling liquorLudhiana: The city police have arrested Manit Singh a resident of Manjit Nagar here for smuggling and illegal sale of liquor. The suspect has been booked under Sections 611 and 14 of the Excise Act.

PB 10FV 1242) hit his motorcycle near the Verka milk plant on Ferozepur Road here. Jagtar said they were going home on their motorcycle when the accident occurred. The police have booked the tempo driver identified as Sukhdev Singh of Meharban village under Sections 279 337 338 and 427 IPC. In another incident Yuvraj Singh of Moti Nagar and his friend Gurmeet Singh sustained fractures and injuries when a speeding truck rammed into their Honda Aviator scooter (HP 40C 6129) near Vardhman Steel in the Focal Point. Yuvraj had been admitted to the CMC Hospital. The police have booked the unidentified truck driver under sections 279 337 338 and 427 IPC. OC Man held for smuggling liquor Ludhiana: The city police have arrested Manit Singh a resident of Manjit Nagar here for smuggling and illegal sale of liquor. The suspect has been booked under Sections 611 and 14 of the Excise Act. In a raid conducted at the house of the suspect the police seized 12 bottles of First Choice whisky. OC 20-yr-old woman goes missing Ludhiana: arsem Singh a resident of Pirthipur village has reported to the police that his 20 year-old daughter Simranjeet Kaur was missing since November 11. He told the police that Simranjeet had gone to the Katani Kalan bus stand with her certificates and since then she had not returned. The police have registered a case under Section 346 of the IPC. OC Woman booked for violating orders Ludhiana: The police have booked Surjit Kaur a resident of Prem Vihar under Section 188 IPC for violation of orders promulgated by the Police Commissioner about compulsory registration of the paying guest facility. The police said the woman had opened a paying guest facility in Chander Nagar which was not registered with the area police as per orders issued by the Police Commissioner. OC
