Doraha December 5 Khanna SSP Gursharandeep Singh Grewal PPS has stated that the Khanna police had started a special campaign against drug trafficking. During the campaign they have achieved a major success on Friday under the leadership of Hardeep Singh DSP Payal SI Nachatar Singh SHO Doraha police station. ASI Charanjit Singh along with a police party had set up a special naka in front of Rajwant Hospital on GT Road here when a Hyundai Verna car (bearing registration number UK 07 AZ 6333) was stopped on the basis of suspicion. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Arshad who was driving the vehicle Mohammad Imran and Farman all residents of Dharampura Mohalla Meerut district UP. On searching the car 57700 intoxicating tablets were recovered. A case under Sections 22 25 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered and all suspects were arrested. During interrogation it was revealed that Imran was having a medical store in Meerut from where he along with other suspects took the drug consignment which was supposed to be delivered to someone near Jalandhar by them. — OC
