Tribune News Service Ludhiana December 5 Days after the MCs building branch officials made allegations against the ruling and Opposition political leaders for putting pressure on them in favour of residential buildings senior Congress leaders Parminder Mehta and Sarabjit Singh Bunty have suggested the MC to take daily report from the officials regarding illegal constructions in the city. Parminder Mehta said “The building branch officials should be directed to make videos and take photographs of illegal constructions and then challans should be issued against the violations. Besides the building inspectors must have information about the approved building maps under their respective area. The staff concerned should be asked to file a report on the constructions on a daily basis. Moreover the complete challan fee should be recovered from violators within a given time.” “There is a big nexus among the MCs building branch officials but they are blaming the councillors and politicians for illegal constructions” said Mehta. Notably officials concerned of the MCs building branch in all the four zones claimed in a report related to illegal constructions that politicians of the ruling as well as the Opposition parties put pressure on them in favour of residential constructions. The officials concerned of Zone A claimed that most political pressure was in Zone A. Similarly officials of Zone B C and D claimed in the report that the most political pressure was in their respective zone.
