3 fall prey 75 positive in Ludhiana

The total number of positive patients from Ludhiana reached 23527 while there are 887 active patients and 918 have lost their lives in the district so far. Out of the total 75 persons who tested positive were six health care workers eight contacts of positive patients two cops while the tracing of 13 persons was in progress. The Mass Education and Media Wing (MEM) of the Civil Surgeon Office Ludhiana is running this awareness drive under the directions of the Deputy Commissioner and Civil Surgeon Ludhiana. Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga Civil Surgeon Ludhiana said awareness and information were key to prevent this disease.

The total number of positive patients from Ludhiana reached 23527 while there are 887 active patients and 918 have lost their lives in the district so far. Today 189 persons were home quarantined. Two patients who were admitted to the DMCH lost their lives. One patient was a 74-year-old woman and suffering from hypertension. Another was a 70-year-old man who was a patient of coronary artery disease. An 81-year-old woman from Barewal village a patient of diabetes and hypertension at Pancham Hospital also succumbed to the virus. Out of the total 75 persons who tested positive were six health care workers eight contacts of positive patients two cops while the tracing of 13 persons was in progress. Meanwhile in order to curb the increasing cases of Covid in the second wave the Health Department has intensified the ongoing awareness drive to spread the necessary information in society and remove panic among residents. The Mass Education and Media Wing (MEM) of the Civil Surgeon Office Ludhiana is running this awareness drive under the directions of the Deputy Commissioner and Civil Surgeon Ludhiana. Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga Civil Surgeon Ludhiana said awareness and information were key to prevent this disease. He said anyone and everyone could save himself/herself from this disease with a few basic precautions such as maintaining adequate social distancing washing hands with soap and water and wearing mask. During the awareness drive the teams visited various areas of the city and put in efforts in urban and high-density areas of the city in a special information education and communication (IEC) van fitted with public address system. Dr Bagga said once considerable decline was seen in Covid cases which was a relief for everybody but cases have again started to rise and people should be more careful in this second wave.
