Bharat Bandh AUCT traders lend support

Lovlen Bains Doraha December 7 The Association of Unaided College Teachers of Punjab joined the ongoing farmers protest at Singhu border. A total of 12 members from different colleges of the state on the board of the AUCT were sent by the association. Prof Harjit Singh General Secretary AUCT said we have handed over the associations letter of support to farmer leaders at Singhu border. Teachers said it is the duty of each and every section of society to extend full support to farmers. “We should feel proud to be a part of such a revolution which is entirely non-political. It is a movement of Punjab by Punjab and for Punjab. So there is no reason why we should stay behind when the borders of Delhi are resounding with voices of justice and righteousness” Ghai added. Bizmen show solidarity Various business organisations announced their support to the Bharat Bandh call given by various farmer outfits demanding rollback of the Acts. Shopkeepers petrol pump owners vocational and professional service providers would suspend work at their respective establishments. Traders led by Tarsem Garg patron Chaura Bazaar Association Ahmedgarh; Parveen Aggarwal chief All Traders Union Raikot and Abant Jain president Karyana Union Raikot said office-bearers and activists of various outfits of traders and shopkeepers have decided to support the Bharat Bandh. Avtar Krishan Sharma and Sandeep Shahi office-bearers of the Petrochemical Dealers Association said owners and managers of various petrol pumps had decided to shun business as announced by the association. “However we have advised our staff to remain on duty and provide services to clients of emergent nature including ambulances and government services” said Sharma and Shahi.
