Chemist shops closed low footfall in hospitals

However hospitals remained open but the footfall of patients was low. The entire staff of Civil Hospital and PCMS Association Civil Hospital Ludhiana supported the farmers' protest and urged the Centre to resolve the issue at the earliest. “We are with the farmers and demand solution to their problem at the earliest” said Dr Rohit Rampal president PCMS Association Civil Hospital. The district has nearly 450 wholesale chemist shops and over 3000 retail shops and all were shut today.

The entire staff of Civil Hospital and PCMS Association Civil Hospital Ludhiana supported the farmers protest and urged the Centre to resolve the issue at the earliest. Doctors at the hospital assembled at the main entrance holding placards and posters. “We are with the farmers and demand solution to their problem at the earliest” said Dr Rohit Rampal president PCMS Association Civil Hospital. The district has nearly 450 wholesale chemist shops and over 3000 retail shops and all were shut today. Aman Arora spokesperson of Ludhiana Chemist Association said that they are fully supporting the cause of the farmers and not a single shop was opened in the district. Hospitals and nursing homes were opened as they cater to emergency care. The Federation of Associations of Rural Medical Officers of Punjab also extended support to the agitating farmers. “We are serving in the rural areas and closely connected with farmers. We will continue to serve the community and carry on with our work but at the same time we will be wearing black badges to support the farmers till their issue gets resolved” said JP Narula state president Rural Medical Services Association.
