Protesters block roads

Activists of farm organisations led by regional leaders of All India Kissan Sabha Bhartiya Kissan Sabha (Ekta Ugrahan) Bharti Kissan Union (Lakhowal) Kirti Kissan Union Khet Mazdoor Union CITU and Bharti Kissan Union (Ekta) Dakaunda organised dharnas on highways and link roads to block the flow of traffic. Speakers including MLA Lakhvir Singh Lakha Zila Parishad Chairman Yadwinder Singh ZP member Prabhdeep Narangwal and Sarpanch Surjit Singh Aulakh addressed gatherings of farmers agricultural labourers and commission agents at various places. Children and women marked their presence by carrying flags of farmer unions to venues of protests. Legislator Lakhvir Singh announced Rs 1 lakh assistance to family of Baljinder Singh Gola a farmer who was killed in road accident at Pipli in Haryana recently. Speakers at Lehra Raikot Halwara and Gahaur urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to withdraw the farm laws in interest of the economy.

Mahesh Sharma Mandi Ahmedgarh/ Raikot/ Payal December 8 The Bharat bandh called on Tuesday by the farmer unions to press for the repeal of the Central Governments newly passed farm laws received a warm response from all sections of society including farmers agricultural labourers commission agents and small traders with protesters holding dharnas on Ludhiana Malerkotla Raikot-Jagraon Road Hari Singh Nalua Chowk Raikot and Mullanpur Barnala highways besides link roads of the region from 11 am to 3 pm.
