Two nabbed in theft cases

Ludhiana: The Dugri police cracked a house theft case reported in Nirmal Nagar on the night of January 10. The police recovered 82 gm of gold ornaments from the accused and further questioning is on to recover the remaining gold and cash. TNSCamp for street vendors held Ludhiana: A camp underthe PM Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) was organised for street vendors at Janakpuri here on Thursday. Secretary of the north unit of the National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) Tiger Singh MC Zonal Commissioner Neeraj Jain nodal officer Abdul Sattar and councillor Navneet Singh were present. Tiger Singh said around 200 street vendors had applied under the scheme.

Ludhiana: The Dugri police cracked a house theft case reported in Nirmal Nagar on the night of January 10. The accused was captured in a CCTV camera footage on the basis of which he was identified and arrested. Surinder Chopra Dugri SHO said on January 10 night owner of the house Bhupinder and his family had gone outside for dinner. When they returned their entire house was found ransacked and 14 tola of gold ornaments and Rs 70000 in cash were found missing. Chopra said the accused who was captured in the CCTV camera was identified as Manvinder Singh Babbu a neighbour of the complainant. The police recovered 82 gm of gold ornaments from the accused and further questioning is on to recover the remaining gold and cash. In another case police nabbed Vikas Kumar of Preet Nagar who had attempted to steal cash from an ATM with the help of a hammer on January 12 in Dugri. The police also recovered the hammer from him.
