Two killed in hit run cases in Ludhiana

Ludhiana February 1Two persons have been killed in separate hit-and-run cases. In the first accident on the national highway in Sahnewal a 44-year-old man identified as Harbhajan Singh a resident of Mohd Tahir village in Ludhiana was killed. The moment he came on the Delhi road his scooter was hit by some unknown rashly driven vehicle. His father suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead by doctors the complainant added. He suffered minor injuries while his father suffered serious head injuries in the accident.

Complainant Sehajpreet Singh victims son stated that on January 30 his father was heading towards Doraha on his Activa scooter. The moment he came on the Delhi road his scooter was hit by some unknown rashly driven vehicle. His father suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead by doctors the complainant added. Investigation officer ASI Gurmeet Singh said a case under Section 304A IPC was registered against unknown driver. In another accident on the GT road a man identified as Mahinder Singh a resident of Amarjit Colony died after his scooter was hit by a speeding and rashly driven car. Complainant Raj Kumar victims son told the police that on January 29 he along with his father was returning from Garhshankar on Vespa scooter. When they reached near Metro store on the GT road their scooter was hit by a rashly driven Ritz car. He suffered minor injuries while his father suffered serious head injuries in the accident. His father was also rushed to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Investigation officer ASI Prabhjit Singh said a case against unknown driver was registered in this regard. Efforts were being made to identify driver on the basis of the vehicle registration number the ASI added. Once he was identified he would be nominated in the case the ASI said. — TNS
