Woman refugee from Kanniyakumari dies in accident in Delhi

NAGERCOILA 24-year-old woman from Sri Lankan refugee camp at Perumalpuram here, who was reportedly missing since January 9 last, has been killed in a road accident in Delhi. Hence, the Delhi police contacted their counterparts in Chennai and it was found that the address in the identity card was fake. When the Delhi police tried to establish the identity of Ramya with the identity card found in her possession, it stated that she was from Chennai. Even as the police were searching for her, Ramya and four others were killed in a road accident in Delhi on last Tuesday. “Now, we’re trying to resolve the mystery behind Ramya’s trip to Delhi, objective of the trip and the reason behind her carrying an identity card with fake address,” said the police sources.

Even as the police were searching for her, Ramya and four others were killed in a road accident in Delhi on last Tuesday. When the Delhi police tried to establish the identity of Ramya with the identity card found in her possession, it stated that she was from Chennai. Hence, the Delhi police contacted their counterparts in Chennai and it was found that the address in the identity card was fake. As the investigations got discreet, Ramya was found to be an inmate of Perumalpuram Sri Lankan refugee camp and the body was sent to the Government Medical College Hospital at Aasaaripallam here. “Now, we’re trying to resolve the mystery behind Ramya’s trip to Delhi, objective of the trip and the reason behind her carrying an identity card with fake address,” said the police sources.
