Talking to reporters, he said over the last five to six years, about 60 persons, who were Dalits, were murdered in both the districts. Twenty families of victims were yet to get compensation from the government. Many were of the view that the SC / ST Act was misused to target somebody wrongfully, but it was not so. To be honest, this Act was not at all implemented, he said. On the Cauvery water issue, he said the Centre had done injustice to Tamil Nadu by seeking more time before the Supreme Court to constitute Cauvery Management Board.
