Ashok more-in It was a good sign that Sivakasi printers, who participate only in big exhibitions, had put up stalls at the Print-n-Pack Expo in Madurai, said S. Dayaker Reddy, president, Indian Printing Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturers’ Association. Mr. Reddy, who was the chief guest on the third day of the four-day fair, said the impact of GST was felt across all industries. Exhibition Chairman Rm. Lakshminarayanan said the footfall had increased from 2,500 on the first day to about 5,000. L. Ramanathan, one of the core committee members, said the focus and attraction of the eighth edition was digital printing, an advanced yet cost-effective alternative to conventional printing. The next edition of the fair might see participation of industrial majors such as HP, Kodak, Konica, TechNova and Avery Dennison. A workshop on InDesign was conducted on Saturday. The exhibition, which is being conducted at Ida Scudder Auditorium in Velammal Medical College on Ring Road, comes to a close on Sunday. It is open to visitors from 11 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
