It ordered filing of a status report by the Bar Council of India as well as the State Bar Council and posted the case for further hearing on October 22. The court had earlier impleaded the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the case. The court also took note of the fact that two other advocates, S. Saravanakumar and V. Subramani, were also involved in the case. The State Bar Council had already initiated action against them. The Bar Council of India, taking up the appeal, granted an interim stay on the action taken against him and the case has been pending for over two years.
