Only after Dr. Manickavasagam came to the house, Dr. Ramalakshmi realised that she had been duped. Police are on the lookout for six persons who posed as Income Tax officials and took ?30,000 from a leading doctor here on Monday. As she said that she had only ?30,000, they took the money from her and escaped. When Dr. Ramalakshmi replied them that the accounts and records were with his son Manickavasagam, also a doctor, they asked her to give them ?1 lakh as bribe for not taking action against her. Based on a complaint from her, the Thatchanallur police have registered a case.
