Decrease in Curbs as private, city buses to resume: Karnataka

The citizens of the state will freely enjoy the bus service in the state. 

The resume of private and city buses is expected from 1 July. Owners of most of the buses agreed to this arrangement, at the meeting of the Bus owners Association held on Thursday, June 24 at Moodbidri.

President of Canara Bus Owners Association, Rajavarma Ballal, and president of the city Bus Owners Association, Dilraj Allva, said that some private buses and Mangaluru city buses will start operating on a limited scale from July 1. They said that they have already submitted a petition to the state government putting forth certain demands including tax concession. In the coming days, another request will be submitted as a follow-up measure to urge the government to concede to our demands, they explained.

KSRTC buses were pressed into service to various destinations from Dakshina Kannada district. Even though the government buses operated within the district till the afternoon, the number of passengers was very less. National Urban Renewal Mission buses were operated within the city.
