₹81cr okayed for devpt of Saptashrungi Gad

Nashik: The state government has approved a development plan proposed by the district administration for the Saptashrungi Gad costing Rs81 crore.CM Ekanth Shinde and deputy CM, Ajit Pawar, discussed the plan on Monday in Mumbai before giving their approval. This project is a part of the Rs531 crore plan for the development of religious places in the state, said a senior officer of the district administration.The development plan focuses on the construction of a safety net to prevent rockfall along an eight kilometre ghat road, of the cliff from Saptashrungi Gad to Nanduri — the base of the hilltop religious place.In order to prevent any injury during rockfall incidents along this route, the state Public Works Department (PWD) had proposed treatment for the rocks at a cost of Rs35 crore. The money will also be used to construct a building for police personnel to use during their bandobast.
