Speeding scooter kills pedestrian

Nashik: A 50-year-old pedestrian crossing the Ambad link road near Lords Bakery was killed after he was hit by a two-wheeler on Sunday.The, victim identified as Ravindra Kasar, was a resident of Vanashree Colony, Ambad, was crossing the road on Sunday at 7pm when the incident occurred. According to Ambad police, a case of causing death due to negligent driving was registered against the accused who is unidentified.Witnesses said that scooter rider was riving at high speed and he lost the control over the vehicle after he saw the person crossing the road. He knocked the person down and fell down from his scooter.As the locals rushed to help the person, the accused gathered his scooter and fled the scene. The victim was immediately taken to a local hospital and then was transferred to a private hospital where he was being treated for the head and chest injury.
