State govt allots ₹5cr more for Shivsrushti construction

Nashik: The state government allotted another Rs 5 crore for the construction of Shivsrushti at Yeola town, said NCP cabinet minister and Yeola MLA Chhagan Bhujbal. The project is being developed as part of a programme by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation and has received Rs 6 crore in the past. This will boost the development of Shivsrushti and make it one of the major tourist centres in Nashik, said Bhujbal. Out of the Rs 6 crore initially given, Rs 2 crore were presented through the District Planning Committee funds and the remaining Rs 4 crore from the State Tourism Department. The Yeola Shivsrushti project is one of Chhagan Bhujbals dream projects.The work of this Shivsrushti project has been taken up in the premises of the old Panchayat Samiti in Yeola city. The work of constructing high walls, columns, etc., on all three sides have been completed. The work of the enthroned statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, a replica of the statue at Raigad, is nearing completion at Kudal under the project. Interestingly, this statue is being made by the same artisans who made the statues installed in Maharashtra Sadan. For the rest of the project, a fund of Rs 5 crore has been sanctioned through the regional tourism scheme and after the completion of the remaining works, efforts are being made to complete the Shivsrushti project soon. The Bhoomipujan of this work of Shivsrushti project was done on May 2, 2022 by the then deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar and in the presence of minister Chhagan Bhujbal. After the inauguration ceremony, the work of Shivsrushti actually started. He unveiled an equestrian statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting its inspirational significance. Bhujbal called for a caste-based census in Maharashtra and opposed including all Marathas in the OBC category, vowing to protect the OBC reservation.
