Eight bikes worth ₹5.6L recovered from 2 thieves

Nashik: The crime branch unit 2 personnel of the city police have claimed to have solved eight cases of motorcycle theft in Nashik and Pune.The cops have detained two men: Yogesh Dabhade (21), a native of Dhule and current resident of Mednagarwadi, Chakan, Pune, and Nilesh Chavan (23), a native of Jalgaon and current resident of Bhosari, Pune, in this case.The burglars had stolen the bikes from Nashik city and Pimpri Chinchwad in Pune. Police have recovered eight motorcycles worth Rs 5.6 lakh from them.The duo had stolen a total of two bikes from Nashik City and the remaining six from Pimri Chinchwad. Cases about these eight thefts have been registered with the concerned police stations.Senior PI Vijay Dhamal of the Crime Branch Unit 2 said, We received information that one of the accused was in Nashik and was planning to steal a bike. Subsequently, we detained him for an inquiry. During the course of the inquiry, the burglar told us that he and his associate had stolen one bike from the Mumbai Naka area and another from the Satpur area. The victims, aged between 24 and 25, were on their way to the market when the accident occurred. The police vehicles driver and a police officer traveling in the car were also injured.
