Nashik: Maharashtra governor Ramesh Bais, who visited Igatpuri on Tuesday, said the district administration should take steps to ensure that the district, especially the tribal dominated areas, were free of malnourishment. Bais inaugurated several camps organized on the occasion of Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Modale and Shirsate villages in tribal dominated Igatpuri taluka of the district. He distributed the schemes benefits like LPG connections and Ayushman Bharat Cards, Kisan Credit Cards and benefits of the integrated child development programme.Addressing the gathering, Bais said, Nashik, along with Mumbai and Pune, was part of the golden triangle, but still there are tribal talukas that are lagging far behind in terms of malnutritiuon. Malnutrition in tribal talukas is the matter of concern for all and, therefore, the district administration should undertake a concrete action program to make Nashik malnutrition-free in the next five years. The state government and the bureaucracy should take steps to ensure they spread awareness among the masses about the government schemes , said Bais.
