Cong to build base in Nashik with branches for 31 wards

Nashik: The Nashik city unit of the Congress has decided to strengthen the party base in the city by opening up ward-wise branches in the existing municipal limits.The plans are being implemented in view of the coming Lok Sabha and assembly elections next year. Akash Chhajed, president, Nashik unit of Congress, said,We are focusing on strengthening the party base in the city limits which includes three state assembly constituencies (Nashik East, Nashik Central and Nashik West).The city has a total 31 municipal wards. In this part, we have plans to open newbranches at every ward in the city and appoint ward-wise chiefs, who will reach out to the people of wards and know all their problems.The city unit has also has sent a proposal to the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCB) chief Nana Patole requesting to contest the Nashik Lok Sabha seat, which the NCP has been contesting for the last two general elections unsuccessfully.Patole is expected to inaugurate the ward-wise branches during his visit to Nashik next month, in addition to holding meetings with city and district units about the coming polls.Chhajed said, The Nashik and Dindori Lok Sabha seat is with the NCP, which has lost both seats for the past two-three years. Hence, we are of the view that the Congress should contest either Nashik or Dindori Lok Sabha seat. His parents registered a missing complaint at the Kotwali police station. PI Chandrashekhar Yadav immediately informed senior officers and launched a search operation. The boy was found within six hours and returned to his parents. The police circulated the boys photos on social media and formed teams to aid in the search. The boy revealed that he was leaving due to his exam results.Jarange says minister from Nashik blocking govt callsQuota activist Manoj Jarange accuses state cabinet minister Chhagan Bhujbal of blocking government decision to grant reservation to Maratha community under OBC category.
