Nashik police start ‘all-out operation’ against anti-socials

Nashik: On the advice of Nashiks new police commissioner Sandeep Karnik, all 13 police stations in the city have launched an all-out operation against anti-social elements .The operation was launched on Tuesday night between 7pm to 10pm, as a part of which, 13 police stations rounded up 565 people found loitering on citys roads without any specific reason and causing nuisance.These people were brought to the police station, where they were warned not to indulge in any kind of anti-social activities.Their phone numbers and addresses were taken before setting them free. The drive will not take place daily. It will be undertaken suddenly during the night by the police, said a senior police officer.In Zone 1, 317 mischief mongers were detained in the areas under the Adgaon, Panchavati, Mhasrul, Bhadrakali, Sarkarwada, Mumbai Naka and Gangapur police stations. Preventive action was taken against them under sections 112/117 of the Maharashtra Police Act.Further, three people were booked under section 151 (1) Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and 30 more people were booked under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA).In Zone 2, action was taken against a total of 248 people under Satpur, Ambad, Indiranagar, Upnagar, Nashik Road and Deolali Camp police stations under section 112/117 of Maharashtra Police Act and other five were booked under Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act.Preventive action was taken against a total of 565 people under section 112/117 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 35 were booked under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act and three people were arrested under section 151(1) of the CrPC.The police officials said that 4 DCPs, 7 ACPs, 30 PIs, 125 PSIs and APIs and 1,150 constables took part in this all-out operation.The all-out operation comes close on the heels of the murder of a retired sergeant of the Indian Air Force by two goons in the Mhasrul area when he just wanted to stop them from indulging in violence on the street.We also published the following articles recentlyIt is an all-out attempt by the BJP, Congress and BRS to come to power in TelanganaTelangana gears up for assembly elections on November 30, with the last date for campaigning being November 28. He was taken to the hospital but later brought back to the police station, where his condition worsened.
