State responsible for rift between Marathas & OBCs: Jayant Patil

Nashik: Maharashtra NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) president Jayant Patil held the state government responsible for the ongoing rift between the Maratha and OBC communities on the reservation issue.Patil was in Jalgaon on Thursday to participate in the partys tractor rally to highlight the agrarian crisis in the state.The state government has failed to spell out its stand clearly on the Maratha reservation issue.This has led to confusion among the people of both communities. I will hold the state government responsible for the widening rift between the two communities, Patil told reporters.Responding to a query, Patil said that chief minister Eknath Shinde has no control over his council of ministers. These ministers speak in different voices on the same issues. As the head of the government, Shinde must exercise his control over all the ministers, he added.The BJP leaders say that Shinde is the CM of the present coalition government. At the same time, they say after next years polls, the CM would be from BJP, said Patil, adding that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) continues to be extremely popular in the state.
