Nashik: Quota activist Manoj Jarange on Sunday reiterated that he was confident of Marathas getting reservation in the OBC category given the high number of Kunbi certificates found in various areas of the state.Addressing Maratha community members at Chalisgaon in Jalgaon district and Dhule town, Jarange appealed to individuals who have got reservations to help other Marathas who do not yet have the reservation. There are two groups of Marathas: one has got reservations as Kunbis through the OBC quota, and the other has not got reservation. I am here to appeal to the Marathas of this region, who have reservation benefits, to help and support the people who havent got reservation yet, Jarange said. The activist was also positive about the Maratha communitys chances of getting reservation in the OBC quota. Overwhelming records of Kunbi certificates are being found in various districts. This is quite a good number. This will help the state government give reservations on the basis of Kunbi documents through the OBC category. He added, If the Marathas are united, then the government will have no other option than to provide reservation to the community through the OBC category.Jarange was also critical of MLAs in the Maratha community, claiming that they had failed to stand up for the Marathas in hard times. Had they been supportive, the community would have got the reservation a long time ago, he stated. We also published the following articles recentlyWithdraw cases, give quota on time or face Marathas: JarangeActivist Manoj Jarange demands withdrawal of cases against Maratha community members from Antarwali Sarati village in Jalna and across Maharashtra.
