Sena, BJP & NCP (Ajit) plan coordination panel for Nashik

Nashik: The three partners of the ruling alliance — Shiv Sena, BJP and the Ajit Pawar faction of NCP — on Sunday decided to form a six-member coordination committee for the Nashik Lok Sabha constituency in view of the approaching parliamentary elections. The coordination committee will have two members from each of the three parties.The decision to this effect was taken during a district-level joint meeting of the alliance partners.The meeting was attended by the office-bearers of all three parties along with three BJP MLAs from the city — Rahul Dhikle (Nashik East), Devyani Pharande (Nashik Central) and Seema Hiray (Nashik West).Bhausaheb Chaudhari, the Shiv Sena sampark pramukh for north Maharashtra, said the names of the coordination committee members for Nashik LS constituency would be announced within a day or two. The meeting also decided to organise a joint camp of public representatives and office-bearers from all the three parties at the Dadasaheb Phalke Memorial in the first week of January, said Chaudhari.Chaudhari added the first public meeting of the alliance partners is also to be held in the third week of January at the Golf Club ground in Nashik city. Chief minister Eknath Shinde and deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar will address the gathering. The date of the public meeting would be finalized shortly.The Nashik city president of BJP, Prashant Jadhav, said it was the first interactive meeting between the alliance partners in view of the LS polls. It was decided that all the three parties will support the candidates of the ruling alliance in Nashik.
