PATNA: Around 50 government and private buildings in the city will soon be adorned with three-dimensional (3D) paintings under the area-based development (ABD) of Patna Smart City project Thirty such buildings have been identified for the 3D wall paintings, Patna divisional commissioner Anand Kishor told media persons on Wednesday. Interactive sculptures will also be installed near roundabouts and parks,” said Kishor, who is the chairman of Patna Smart City Limited.“The sculptures will not be made out of waste materials,” he said. Some life-size paintings on social issues or carrying some messages will communicate with the audience. The designs will be worked out by a private agency, which will be hired after bidding process. He said the proposal has been sent to the building owners for their consent.

He said the proposal has been sent to the building owners for their consent. “The project is aimed at providing a unique virtual experience for the Patnaites. Some life-size paintings on social issues or carrying some messages will communicate with the audience. The designs will be worked out by a private agency, which will be hired after bidding process. The paintings will be created using high quality exterior colours,” he said.The locations selected for 3D wall paintings would be Fraser Road, Beer Chand Patel Marg, Exhibition Road, Gandhi Maidan and Budh Marg, among others.Kishor said with an aim to beautify the city, it was also decided in a meeting of board members of the Patna Smart City Limited that 50ft-high iconic sculptures would be installed at prime locations in Patna. “Like in Madrid, there are number of sculptures to attract people. Interactive sculptures will also be installed near roundabouts and parks,” said Kishor, who is the chairman of Patna Smart City Limited.“The sculptures will not be made out of waste materials,” he said. “The parking space and city parks will also get a boost with modern sculptures like comb-shape parking space, hand-shaped chairs, Medulla hair and hollow trees with a message in parks to attract students,” he said.Kishor said the work on iconic sculptures and 3D wall paintings on buildings will begin by September and the work is targeted to be completed by March 2019.
