Swapan Amisha excel in interschool speech contest

PATNA: Swapan Mehta of Dr G L Dutta DAV Public School-Transport Nagar and Amisha Singh of Gyan Niketan Girls School (GNGS) emerged as winners of an ‘Inter-school Bhashan and Shabd Gyan Competition’ in the junior (Classes II to VII) and senior (Classes VIII to XII) categories respectively, on Saturday. The event was organized by Gyan Niketan Boys School on its campus.Harshita of R P S Residential School won the second prize in the junior category while the third prize was bagged by Arya Kaushik of GNGS. School principal J K Mukherjee, administrator Anita Kunal and vice-principal S M Jha were also present on the occasion.Leeds int’l: At least 800 students and 50 teachers participated in a health check-up camp organized by Leeds International School on its campus on Saturday. In The senior category, Anand of St Karen’s High School bagged the second prize while Ayushman of R P S Residential School secured the third position.Prizes and certificates were given by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University’s former Hindi department head Ganesh Prasad, who was the chief guest of the event.

The camp was supervised by surgeon Dr Shashi Monkar, eye specialist Dr Kunal Kundan and dialectologist Dr Gunjan and was also attended by the students’ parents.Principal Bijay Kumar Sahu said the school administration organized health check-up camps at least twice a year for its students and teachers.School chairman Rameshwar Singh urged the parents to help their children develop healthy habits.Indirapuram school: Rishita Parashar and Skand were sworn in as the head girl and deputy head girl of Indirapuram Public School Girls at an investiture ceremony on Saturday.Prachy Barnwal (cultural prefect), Aparna Singh (deputy cultural prefect), Shalvi Sharma (sports captain), Shridhi (deputy sports captain), Prachi (literary prefect), Arpita (eco prefect) and Rida Kaifi (treasurer) also took oath on the occasion.School principal Arti Jha talked about the importance of leadership in school life.
